For many years, I taught a research methods course at the University of Oklahoma. The course was part of the graduate curriculum in Human Relations, a program that focused on human diversity.
Most of the students in Human Relations were engaged in various professional careers such as counselling and personnel management. These students needed a general understanding of research methods in order to maintain currency in their fields. A s a consequence, the focus of the course was on developing both a broad understanding of research methods in general and a specific understanding of statistical analysis sufficient to be an intelligent consumer of research.
The website I designed for students is still running on a legacy site (opens in new link).
